The Essence of Caribbean Living!
Located on the island of St. John, Moonsong is a charming 2 bedroom, 2 bath Caribbean style hideaway perfect for winter get-away or honeymoon. Designed to maximize an ideal location, Moonsong provides all that is the essence of Caribbean living... high ceilings, tiled floors, large fans, rattan furniture, flowers, fruit trees and palms. Screened, louvered doors enhance gentle trade winds or fold open onto decks for sunbathing, dining or stargazing. With arches, gingerbread, and the contrast of coral pink and sky blue trim against crisp white, the house is bright, clean and cheerful. Potted plants and carefully selected artwork by Caribbean artists accent the island tone. The cottage is located a short distance to Hart Bay Beach and two minute drive to another beach at Chocolate Hole.
On the main level three sets of double doors open onto two covered
decks, with either serving as a cocktail and dining area. Island
rugs, coordinated tropical prints, and exposed beams are accentuated by
the grace of an arched window and door.
A bar/countertop with bar stools separates the living room and kitchen. The kitchen is clean, modern and well equipped. Because it adjoins the living area, the cooks can easily enjoy water views and socialize as they prepare meals or cocktails.
The 2 bedrooms are on separate floors and provide excellent privacy for two couples or a family. Both bedrooms feature double doors opening onto private decks, bathrooms with tastefully tiled showers, and white wicker furniture. The upper bedroom features a custom made queen sized bed with mahogany trim.
An outside stairway leads to the lower bedroom. The spacious bedroom can be made up as a king size or two twin
beds. The lower level has a large shower with an ocean view and tasteful accessories. Outside you can dine on your own private deck with water views
Fabulous Water Views; Ocean and Bay
Enjoy the ocean view, whispering surf and cooing of a turtledove from the comfort of your bed. Let the moonlight flood into your room and an evening breeze caress your body. It is easy to understand why Moonsong has become a favorite honeymoon retreat
A short walk on a winding path leads to the pristine waters and coral reefs of Hart Bay Beach, rarely frequented by other islanders. A two minute drive takes you to another beach at Chocolate Hole, with excellent swimming and snorkeling.Take in the spectaular ocean view and the Caribbean breezes as you dine on the upper deck. About St John, U.S Virgin Islands
St. John, the smallest & most idyllic of the three United States Virgin Islands, is best known for its dozens of post card perfect white sand beaches, turquoise bays abounding in colorful corals & rainbows of tropical fish & endless vistas of green velvet hills. Only nine miles long & three miles wide, two thirds of the island is the Virgin Islands National Park, so its spectacular beaches & untouched forests will remain that way for generations to come & be accessible to all. There are tours of the National Park by Jeep or safari bus & hikes on spectacular trails led by Park Rangers who enrich the experience with talks on the island's history & geology as well as its flora & fauna. Frequent visitors to St. John are beach lovers who aren't content to only read about St. John in books but are always ready to go back to the beach.
While it is only twenty minutes from St. Thomas by convenient hourly ferry, St. John is the peaceful, uncommercialized paradise of island fantasies. It has no high-rise buildings, cruise ship docks or airport. Visitors can obtain discounted air fares to St. Thomas.
Despite its unspoiled atmosphere, it offers every facility & amenity found at major resorts.
Watersports abound! One can charter boats from kayaks to ketches to catamarans by the day or week, with or without captain. Day excursions for sightseeing, picnicking, snorkeling, or scuba diving are offered on every variety of sail or motor craft. Sport fishing in our waters is an experience you'll always remember. Activities on land include hikes you can take on your own or with a National Park guide, horseback riding, donkey trail rides, rock climbing, exploring historic ruins & more.
Getting around the island is easy. Cruz Bay, the major town where the ferry docks, is on the west end of the island facing Red Hook in St. Thomas. It is connected by well maintained paved roads (see map) to most of the bays & beaches & to Coral Bay, the picturesque yacht harbor on the east end of the island. Several local agencies, all a short walk from the ferry dock, offer rental cars, jeeps & canopied trucks by the day or week. Colorful canopied taxis also line the dock all day & evening, offering rides to every island destination & tours.
St. John's surprisingly large selection of restaurants runs from breeze cooled spots for barbecue or burgers to air-conditioned hideaways for Continental cuisine & candlelight. There are many great chefs cooking on the island. The hotels, restaurants & bars offer evening entertainment by the great array of talented, world-class musicians that St. John attracts.
