Known as Mariposa or the monks room this is the spare room or can be used as a delicate cloister for the bachelor or bachelorette. The gorgeous Brahma bull oil is by painter Bill McGrail , painted lovingly for Kandelaria on her birthday. McGrail a Buddhist jumped from his old red truck and painted the Brahma in Tuito in the moonlight!   He is like the sun and not the moon for his love shines bright and never, never changes. – Shakespeare   Though small there is a quaint blue spacious refrigerator on the small balcony that hovers over the verdant Afghani ,tiled garden below . Though quaint this room has the most spectacular tiled floor of Mosaics, and it is perfect for the traveler on a budget!   Alexander has totally refurbished this room with mirrored walls over a working gas fireplace whose oblong crystailine chandelier makes the entire abode an infinitesimal kismet of color!   The bathroom's mosaic sink and tub make privacy a premium and the blue sunken tub and shower are sheer glamour for late night lovers.   The transcendental wedge wood painted celestial color and mirrored shelves gives an angelic repose… yet the room has a definite masculine ambiance to it, most conducive to a writer or artist who treasures his space and solitude.   Yes, dear ,life is a humbling experience , now go to your typewriter and write your beliefs In blood ,my love ,in blood! - Ernest Hemmingway   This cherry wood glass top table and antique harp chairs are conducive for late night midnight soirees or the whimsical artist.   This area serves as a delightful spare bedroom or cloister for the single patron. The small terrace below was cultivated by Lori Cleary, whose mother Katy Ottesen was best friend to Silver and taught us all that life can be a picnic every day …her green thumb has planted lemons bananas and limes and truly taught us when life gives you lemons sugar it into lemonade….remember says Silvers painting … In Life one must be just a little bit careful…But when you live in this Kismet of Carousel color …above all strive to be happy!

An antique brass chandelier is the focal point while crimson satin curtains bedeck three walls and shuddered wooden accordion style beveled glass doors are great for yoga exercise or meditation.  A platinum filigreed afghan screen and a jungle tableau biombo flank the bed but there is still ample room for closet space and an ample spacious armorer.  A deep buff terracotta bathtub is perfect for a candle light soak for 2 people..so Indian in style…one remembers the old phrase "Never seek a sheik for he will find you!"  A handsome toilet and chartreuse crystalline green sink are enclosed in a private bathroom whose beveled glass windows give you a 180 degree view of the fauna birds, iguanas, and roaring river below.  Speaking of wild life one can also see the pink Bridge of Sighs that connected Elizabeth to Richard Burton. So close in proximity on quiet balmy nights one could overhear their most chronic lover’s spats. Richard always wanted to be a writer so when Liz would get angry she would take his trusty red typewriter and drop it on her betrothed's foot! Ouch!  A vined hallway which looms elegantly with three cherry wood bay windows has the billowing manta white curtains that were Tony Scotts trademark in his movies with David Bowie and Katherine Deneuve.  Both the Green Room which has direct pool access and Scarlet are perfect same level suite, which can share a full kitchen and dining area below.

As you wind up a ferned brick Grecian Stairway you instantly feel a caressing sea breeze, nestled snugly within the tree tops in an exotic dwelling with a vista of the bay and Gringo Gulch which will be ensconced deep within your heart for all time, [always known to wayfarers as the blue room ] .  High above the spacious grey-lined stairwell you will spy a pastel fresco in bas -relief’ carved in stone. - a brilliant technique which has been utilized by artisans since time began… for here is etched a handsome bustier of the master and owner of the villa, Alexander.  A tribute from his painter, Miriam , who so brilliantly depicts him as an actual composer who orchestrated master craftsmen to keep his grandmother’s revered legend alive for eternity.   In Mexico for a lad just out of college this can be a taxing almost insurmountable task , yet you will see he has achieved his desire like a Prince with an unprecedented dexterous , finesse and grace. This was Alexanders room.  Secure antiquated double wooden doors open into a celestial sitting room with sumptuous purple divan and a fold out royal purple velvet couch that easily sleeps a cozy couple .  Complete with air conditioning and entertainment center in this the Master Bedroom, a fine chiseled windows connects to brilliant portholes and shamrocks that light up a private fun Tibetan orange kitchen with microwave all manor amenities.   Both of these rooms have vistas over the pool below and large 10 person whirlpool above with easy elevator access and stairways to street and indoor pool below. The living quarters are brilliantly lit by arches and a pastel centrally lighted cupola, mirrored on the outside with chips of glass which gloriously accentuates the roof above.   Spacious bookshelves and a heavy hand carved leaded mirror from Marcella Garcias and the world renowned boutique Seraphina grace Grecian white and periwinkle walls.  The penthouse provides the most spacious closet and kitchen space and easily sleeps 5 to 6 people.  Alejandro is especially appealing to those who appreciate a unique ambiance, with ample wooden curtained shudders that give a whimsical antiquity to the sea and ample sliding glass doors that lead to a virginal huge white tiled patio great for fiestas and private entertaining....complete with pots of luscious white roses. While a glass patio table with large striped umbrella is great for Mahjong, Baccarat or even a late candlelit poker nights. There are ample state of the art twinkling lights throughout all dwelling for dancing in the mid-night hours!  Periwinkle blue walls are curtained by taffeta, lace, and a golden birdcage day bed fit for a queen faces a majestic white wrought iron bed….. the largest the villa has to offer while a 20 foot high water tight Palapa Roof is spectacular with a centrally located 15 pointed titillating brass chandelier above.  Crystal Candelabras bedeck the walls in complete bathroom with bidet, which contains a masterfully created glass Mosaic sink and transcendental sunken tub perfect for a family or romantic lovers.   So, my love. If you want to sing to the heavens, know that you have truly found the blue room,… the real haven closest to God!

This suite has it's own private entrance quarters......perfect for privacy.   Fabulous for entertaining, Silvers most famous boat style divan can be seen on the left and a large citrus lime couch can be rolled out to sleep two people.  The cherry wood table and chairs are exquisite for entertaining and writers contemplation plus the entire abode has twinkling wall lights with dimmers which reflect enticing hues off the large handmade white tiled mosaic floor...these works of art you will find only at Rivera del Rio.  Each suite is full of antiques and eclectic – as gorgeous paintings loom, towering on walls from above ,the most cherished one of the lady of the house was painted by the late world renowned Sheila Devine. A blazing fireplace with mirrored walls make this a joyous surrounding for the contemplate or ingenue!  Note the twinkling lights that accentuate the hues of the wedge-wood walls and the large tiled floor below whose royal design can also be seen in Empress Carlotta's castle in Chapultepec. All appliances are brand new with burners and broiler oven featuring a spacious new refrigerator, all with easy access to the bedroom located directly behind.
The bedroom is also its own retreat with a King Size bed and 2nd private bathroom; you can escape to your own abode. With a small private patio that allows nature to enter the area via full wall glass doors, you can take a peak of what the climate is like above your oasis.
