North Sea

The charming town of North Sea is a Hamlet in the township of Southhampton. It is located on Little Peconic Bay, has a population of 4,493 (as of the 2000 census) and claims to be the "state's first colony", with ten of its original founders landing in the area in 1640 from Massachusetts. The scenery in North Sea beckons with glassy bays, majestic sunrises and spectacular sunsets. Conscience Point National Wildlife Refuge takes up much of the west part of the land, preserving the area's natural woodlands and fauna. The harbor is surrounded by pristine meadows and friendly woods. Old World rustic cottages, bayfront, harborfront and humble historic oceanfront homes blend with the natural scenery. Many homes are examples of traditional home building with gentle fireplaces and acreage that maximizes the beauty of the natural landscape. New homes are built to maximize views of the land—where sky meets sea in a fantastic photoscape.
