It all begins with the Aravis range of the breath-taking French Alps, a splendid backdrop capped at 2,750 meters by the Pointe Percée, the symbolic peak of the range, from which beautiful, green, wooded and accessible slopes run down into the village of Le Grand-Bornand...

Situated at 1,000 meters, Le Grand-Bornand is a typical Savoyard small market town with its Grenette, its bustling Place and shops, and luscious backdrop...in this case, the glorious Bouchet valley, a favorite cross-country ski area. And of course, what would an Alpine ski area be without its postcard chalets dotting the landscape?

Spread all over the village (over 400 can be counted), the chalets of Le Grand-Bornand are often centuries old, and feature typical architectural elements such as "La pointe d’âne" (the master beam of the building), the "solaret" (a light and airy hay loft), the "credence" (a kitchen cupboard built into the wall, and/or the little grain store next to the main house (in which all manner of goodies get kept...;). Covered in wood with protected balconies and warm, cozy interiors spread over three floors, these iconic chalets are considered the real jewels of alpine heritage.
