Sick of boring hotels? Check out this solar-powered floating resort

Have your dreams of staying in a floating hotel been cramped by your ecological conscience?

Be conflicted no longer. Rex Features reports that an Italian designer has created a "Solar Floating Resort" that can be motored up to 10 miles offshore and anchored - or kept at a marina.

The vessel - which is about 65 feet long - has enough room to sleep six people in two singles and two double bedrooms. Each have their own bathroom.

The coolest part? A fully-submerged observation room which gives 360-degree views of wildlife.

"It has a fully submerged observation bulb because the majority of people are fascinated by watching exotic fish, dolphins, sharks and marine turtles," designer Michele Puzzolante, 53, told Rex.

Outside, the resort will have a teak deck with a dining area, day beds and a Jacuzzi. Power is generated for the hotel by solar panels in the roof.

It's expected to hit the market within a year for about $1.7 million dollars.
