A fantastic historic property on Grand Street in the heart of downtown Newburgh, filled with beautifully preserved architectural details and tremendous character. This well-maintained three-unit property has been lovingly owned and cared for by the same family for more than a quarter century. The owner’s residence is a spacious duplex beginning on the parlor level, where remarkable original details have been impeccably preserved. The lower level offers a large kitchen and recreation space. Throughout the home, exceptional woodwork, decorative tile inlays, impressive fireplaces, high ceilings, and generous proportions make the interiors truly distinctive. Upstairs are two additional apartments with long-term tenants who are happy to stay and have made the building very much their home. Outside, the property offers something increasingly rare in downtown Newburgh: a private driveway, a lovely backyard, and a substantial carriage house ready for its next chapter. In its current state, the carriage house has the wonderfully atmospheric feel of a Budapest-style ruin bar. It also offers exciting potential as a future studio, workshop, entertaining space, or possible accessory dwelling unit, subject to approvals. A special opportunity to own a beautifully preserved piece of Newburgh history, with existing income, exceptional architectural character, outdoor space, parking, and significant additional potential.
