Is Oprah Considering Buying an Apthorp Pied-a-Terre?

Here's a fun celebrity real estate rumor: might Oprah be moving to The Apthorp? So hears The Real Estalker, who reports that Oprah's been checking out potential Upper West Side pieds-a-terre. She recently listed her 4,600-square-foot Chicago apartment for $2.8 million, a big loss from the $5.6 million she paid for it (another apartment she owned on East 57th Street recently sold). There's no intel on Oprah's price range or the specific apartments she's visited, but if she's looking for something in the same square footage range as her Chicago place, she's going to have to cough up something like $12.5 million. If she wants to match that place in price rather than size, there are two 1BRs available for $2.1 million and $2.4 million.
