Jackson Heights Queens is a neighborhood in the north west part of Queens, Jackson Heights is bounded by Astoria Boulevard from the north, the expressway from the west, Roosevelt Avenue from the south, and Junction Boulevard from the east. Jackson Heights is one of the most original neighborhoods and a national register historic district and a New York state historic register district. Jackson Heights comprises large garden apartment building and many groupings of private homes, The development of the neighborhood was laid out by Edward A. Macdougall's corporation around 1916. Jackson Heights is believed to be the first garden city community in the United States, as a part of the international garden city movement, there are many private historical parks within walking distance from each other, usually located in the mid blocks aread and hidden from view by the buildings around them, several of them are almost as big as Gramercy Park in Manhattan. Jackson Heights has some great recreation activities, Travers Park is the most main loca playground with a variety of sport activities like basketball, tennis, soccer, baseball and more. Jackson Heights is a great neighborhood with a large historical housing and garden influence, a great place to live at and a destination to visit.
