This stunning property is 240 acres of grassland and woods between a fast running stream and a quaint and quiet village. The homestead sits on a knoll that overlooks the entire property, which was originally built in 1785 and completely renovated. The main house occupies 7,500 square feet of living space and is styled after a Northern Spanish - Portuguese design – with high beamed ceilings, over 2-foot thick brick walls, hand-hewn doors and windows and large black & white marble tile floors. The living area is divided into 4 main areas. The owners suite surrounded by windows -is a 375 sq. ft bedroom, with a 165 sq ft dressing room, a 145 sq. ft. bathroom with built in Jacuzzi. A set of stairs leads to a charming sitting room or studio and terrace above (430 sq ft) replete with a giant picture window for sunset viewing. The central area includes a large foyer, living room with fireplace, library - office, dining room, dish gallery, and guest bathroom all surrounded by a 1000 sq. ft. gallery with brick floors and large columns supporting a hardwood framework with antique French roof tiles. This area though large with very high ceilings is made very comfortable by the heat put
out through air ducts from the iron fireplace on the living room.
The third area is the kitchen, a chef’s dream come true. It’s very spacious and features a central island cooking center and eating bar, an indoor wood burning BBQ large enough to grill a whole steer - and wood-burning oven for bread and pizza.
The remaining square footage is a guest area that includes 3 spacious bedrooms (one lower and two on a second level) a fireplace and 2 bathrooms. All the areas combined form an open “u” shape, that nestles a large court yard/ tiled patio (suitable for dinner or lunch parties and afternoon tea) shaded by three gorgeous date palms. The estancia also has a personnel cottage and service barn located 1500 feet from the main house. The property is surrounded by 6 ft fence on top of 3 ft berm and has
electrically operated solid privacy front gate and has parking facilities for over 12 vehicles.
