Description
Step into a realm of unparalleled beauty and organic excellence at Farrm Wine Vineyard, a testament to over 35 years of dedication, collaboration, and certified organic farming. Nestled in the heart of Long Island, this piece of heaven on earth has been lovingly nurtured by the visionary Rex and Connie Farr, who have poured their hearts and souls into the land for nearly four decades.
More than just a farm or vineyard, Farrm Wine Vineyard represents a harmonious union of nature and human ingenuity, where top organic growers from Long Island and beyond have come together in a spirit of collaboration and shared passion for organic farming. The Farrs, true stewards of the land, have created a sanctuary where rescue livestock roam freely, enriching the soil through their natural composting process guided by Rudolf Steiner's Biodynamic principles. In October of 2025, the Farrm Vineyard received the coveted Demeter Biodynamic certification for the entire 32-acre farm, including the 8 acres of grapes. This certification is a direct result of the Farr's 35 years of biodynamic stewardship.
With a deep-rooted commitment to certified organic agriculture, the Farrs employ crop rotation, plant cover crops, and follow organic practices to cultivate a diverse array of organic vegetables and herbs that have graced the tables of local restaurants, green markets, and supermarkets for years. In 2005, a portion of the land was placed into preservation, paving the way for the transformation of 20 acres into a premier vineyard.
Today, Farrm Wine Vineyard boasts 8 acres of red wine grapes, including the four quintessential Bordeaux varietals - Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot - thriving in the rich, organic-certified soil. The vineyard's dedication to quality and organic excellence has garnered recognition, with their wines earning acclaim for their exceptional taste and purity. As one of the only certified organic vineyards and one of just two Demeter-certified vineyards in New York State, Farrm Wine Vineyard is a beacon of excellence in the world of organic winemaking.
Experience the legacy of Rex and Connie Farr, and immerse yourself in the beauty, craftsmanship, and soulful essence of Farrm Wine Vineyard. This is not just a property; it is a living testament to a lifetime of passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the land and its bounty."
Farrm Wine was created by Rex and Connie Farr, who practice organic/biodynamic farming methods. No chemicals have been used on the farm since 1985. They became the first certified organic and biodynamically farmed (1990) on Long Island. The vineyard was planted in 2005, with four varieties of Bordeaux grapes: 8.5 acres of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, and Petite Verdot.
The first wines were made from the 2012 harvest, and then only two bottles were made: Farrm Reserve and Farrm Rose. Our wines reflect the quintessential “terroir”, the taste of the North Fork of Long Island, NY
Our production methods follow the principles of Rudolf Steiner. Biodynamics is the PHD of organics. Understanding the relationship between the moon and the tides might help us understand some of these principles. (Please see the diagram attached to the listing.)
From pruning to harvest, 220 days, 25 jobs, and a lot of luck. We hope to harvest roughly 3 tons per acre.
Hand-picked at their peak of ripeness, the grapes are then taken to our winemaker, where the process of de-stemming, maceration, fermenting, and eventually bottling will take place.
Every bottle of wine has a story.
The 2022 Vintages are the currently available wines.
FARRM WINE RESERVE 2022
A masterpiece of complexity and elegance, this full-bodied Reserve dazzles with a symphony of aromas—bittersweet chocolate, ripe plum, aromatic sage, delicate violets, and a whisper of black pepper. Rich, commanding tannins frame each sip, inviting the bold flavors of lamb, duck, or beef
Certified organic/biodynamic grown grapes.
