Housing Market Indicators Monthly Update: June 2021

Market Report provided by HUD

Purchases of new homes declined. New single-family home sales fell 5.9 percent to 769,000 units (SAAR) in May from a downwardly revised pace of 817,000 units in April but were still 9.2 percent higher than one year ago. New home sales are based on the signing of a purchase agreement rather than a closing, as is the case with existing homes. Note that monthly data on new home sales tend to be volatile.
