Alfredo Merat is a seasoned professional with a diverse background spanning hospitality, real estate, music, and event management. Having arrived in New York in 1985, Alfredo quickly established himself as a prominent figure in the culinary scene, working alongside renowned chefs and proprietors at prestigious establishments like Le Bernardin, Bouley Restaurant, Montrachet, and The Palm.
In 1987, Alfredo ventured into real estate at the suggestion of Allan Schneider, complementing his work with Overseas Connection and later, Villasoftheworld.com. His expertise extends to local property rentals, sales, and international vacation villa brokerage, with a notable track record in managing Cerulean villa in Anguilla, BVIs, described by Vogue as the Caribbean's only fully staffed villa.
Alfredo's entrepreneurial spirit led to the successful opening of Cerulean Restaurant at the 1770 House in 2000, earning a 3-star rating from the Long Island New York Times. His leadership, financial acumen, and operational prowess were instrumental in achieving this milestone.
In addition to his culinary and real estate ventures, Alfredo has made significant contributions to the music industry. He is an accomplished musician and band leader with over 35 years of experience, collaborating with local and international artists. Alfredo's work includes notable projects such as Brel the Stare, where his musical talents and creative vision were showcased to critical acclaim.
Alfredo has achieved remarkable success with his one-man show "Becoming Brel," which delves into the life and work of his mentor, Jacques Brel. The show has seen multiple sold-out performances at the prestigious Bay Street Theatre, captivating audiences and earning Alfredo accolades from Cabaret aficionados, Broadway insiders, and beyond. His portrayal of Jacques Brel's artistry and legacy has resonated deeply with audiences, solidifying Alfredo's reputation as a compelling performer and storyteller.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Alfredo is an avid supporter of the arts, representing his daughter, Lilly Anne Merat, a talented vocalist. He actively supports her career and collaborates with a network of musicians and artists to curate exceptional musical experiences for events, weddings, and dining environments, enhancing atmosphere and guest satisfaction.
