It will also have greater value for our buyer than it does for the seller. “When it’s time to negotiate price, I never leave my client’s corner. But, to negotiate the best price, I analyze the transaction from the perspective of both the seller and the buyer," says Serhant, “If I represent the seller, I do my best to negotiate a price that takes into account not only the seller’s expectations, but also the premium value the property has for the buyer." Serhant's goal is to maximize the amount of happiness in the world— at least among buyers and sellers of luxury residential properties.

He is frequently quoted in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Wall Street Journal China, SUCCESS Magazine, Inc, Forbes, and writes a weekly real estate column entitled "Ask Ryan Serhant," for Inman News, and has a weekly real estate vlog for Streeteasy entitled "Ryan's New York Minute."
Serhant is engaged to Emilia Bechrakis, an attorney from Greece. She and Ryan are planning to wed in 2016. Serhant graduated from Hamilton College in 2006 with degrees in English Literature, and Theatre. After college, he moved to New York City.
Serhant believes in the importance of giving back, and has supported the following non-profit organizations: Share Our Strength, Habitat for Humanity, The Human Rights Campaign, Charity Water, Walk of Art, Ronald McDonald House, PACER Anti-Bullying Campaign, AmFAR, Pink Agenda, Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Anderson School, and GLAAD.
