A Houston native turned Brooklyn maven, Sonia Brown never thought her previous career as a musician would inform so much of what she does as a real estate professional. But after making the transition she quickly realized that achieving balance and harmony is just as crucial for songwriting and composing as it is for matching her clients’ lifestyles and goals to specific neighborhoods and homes, and she applies this principle to every step of the home buying and selling process.
Sonia’s interest in real estate began in Alabama, where she used to tour fancy southern homes—the ones with lush gardens and troves of antiques—with her grandmother. When she moved to Brooklyn, the greenery and charm of the houses in Carroll Gardens reminded her of those estates, and she has since immersed herself in the unique history and distinctive architecture that marks every neighborhood in the borough. She is intuitive in her understanding of what her clients want, and she values trust, sincerity, and the human relationship in every interaction. Whether she’s helping out-of-state buyers find a townhouse in Ditmas, working closely with parents searching for a Boerum Hill condo for their daughter, or partnering with a developer to launch a project in the Columbia Street Waterfront District, it is a refreshingly honest approach that her clients appreciate.
When not working, Sonia still involves herself with music and the arts. She is a lover of farmer’s markets and farm-to-table restaurants, and enjoys yoga, exercising, and spending time with her partner and their two adorable kittens.
