Free Walking Tours of LIC Real Estate Reveal Community History, Local Hot Spots

Queens Native & Local Broker Shares His Deep Knowledge with Many

New York, NY – May 3, 2007 . . . Eric Benaim, a top broker with Nest Seekers International, has taken his love of Long Island City beyond his day job selling property in the booming neighborhood to offering free walking tours to a wide array of curious New Yorkers. What started out as a way for this longtime community resident to share his “inside knowledge” of Long Island City real estate with friends and clients – even before it became the newest hotspot it is recognized as today – has morphed into a curiously popular local experience.

Eric Benaim’s Long Island City tours had for many months been organized sporadically until demand began to grow rapidly. Now, starting Sunday June 3, the free 1.5 hour tour is being held every Sunday throughout June & July, starting at 1:30 PM. Mr. Benaim prides himself on making each Long Island City tour unique, however each promises to offer introductions to local hotspots, information about the neighborhood’s dynamic history, and meetings with some of the small business proprietors that enrich and enliven the area, as well as visits to landmarks and unique real estate.

Specific tour highlights include:

Touring of the picturesque townhouses on 45th Avenue between 21st and 23rd Streets (ranked 4th best block in Time Out New York).
Walking to the promenade and the east coast development projects for one of the most striking views of the city and fun facts about the development boom.
Visiting the 5 Points Gallery (aka the Graffiti Museum).
Ending in a local coffee/tea shop, Communitea on Vernon Blvd., where a complementary drink will be offered.

Eric Benaim explains, “These tours are appropriate to everyone who is seeking a fun afternoon out and enjoys learning about real estate and local hotspots as well as experiencing a non-traditional upbeat tour. Having the opportunity to share my community with others and help people understand the richness of Long Island City beyond its Manhattan skyline views is important to me. It is an extremely rewarding experience.”

Each tour meets on Sundays at 1:30 PM at 27-28 Thompson Avenue, Long Island City starting on June 3.
