This Neighborhood Brought to You By ...

Jan. 14, 2008

Given our skepticism of last week's photography show cum NOMA 175 pitch at 207 Gallery, it seemed only right to check it out firsthand.

It was ... pleasantly pitch-free. The photography, by Ghila Krajzman, doesn't center on the building, but the neighborhood. And it's good. (Some of the prints looked a tad muddy, though that could have been the lighting.) Prints are offered for sale, and will be on display through 1/23 while brokerage firm Nest Seekers International uses the gallery as a temporary sales office (call ahead!). They'll be setting up shop at 175 Payson on 1/27.

There was a nice little food and beverage spread, and a passel of Art Strollers, who learned that two NOMA 175 units, both on the third floor, with asking prices of $425,000 and $435,000, are under contract -- to folks who already live in Inwood. So maybe the brokers won't have to sell anyone on Upper Manhattan.

We weren't able to stick around for the second Stroll event, a community theater project called "A Good Neighborhood" (see?), but hope to pass along more info from its organizers soon.
