Shakira Shakes $2 Million Off Asking Price

Shakira Shakes $2 Million Off Asking Price

Shakira is set to return to her swivel chair on the set of “The Voice” come spring, but in the meantime she’s spinning a discount in South Beach. The “Hips Don’t Lie” artist has cut the asking price for her Miami Beach mansion.

Riding the wave of her breakout hit “Whenever, Wherever,” the international pop star paid $3.38 million for the palatial oceanfront pad in 2001. She first began shopping the property in July 2013 for a whopping $15 million; however, after more than six months on the market, Gossip Extra reports that she has adjusted her ask by approximately $2 million.

Located on North Bay Road, a celebrity-lined drive that has been home to such stars as the New York Yankees’ Alex Rodriguez and the Miami Heat’s Chris Bosh, the waterfront “Zen sanctuary” spans 8,355 square feet with six bedrooms and nine bathrooms.

Built in 1951, the home has been extensively renovated and is described as a combination of “minimalist simplicity and purity,” but with the utmost in modern day convenience. Inside, high-end luxuries and touches include hardwood flooring, a state-of-the-art kitchen, a gym, and a second-floor master suite. Outside, Shakira’s prized property rounds out with a hardwood pool deck, a private boat dock and its own slice of the Miami waterfront.

Shakira made headlines this month after her new single with Rihanna, “Can’t Remember To Forget You,” hit No.1 on iTunes within 24 hours of its release. The acclaimed singer followed that up by releasing a Spanish adaption of the single, called “Nunca Me Acuerdo de Olvidarte.” The songs will be featured on her upcoming album, her first since 2009’s “She Wolf,” which is set to debut in March.
