Weston is a young city in Florida’s Broward County, having only been established in 1996. Arvida/JMB Realty developed the majority of the city, which, over the course of the past decade, has grown enormously and attracts an affluent population. Business Week called it one of the country’s “best affordable suburbs” in 2006, and Money Magazine listed Weston as the 20th city in the country under “Biggest Earners” the same year, and the best place to live in Florida in 2008. It is also considered the area of Florida’s largest rate of job growth, and the United States’ 18th largest.

Tourists stay at hotels and inns, such as Hawthorn Suites, TownePlace Suites, Vacation Village at Bonaventure, Hyatt Regency, Crowne Plaza, Renaissance Plantation Hotel, and La Quinta Inn.

Weston is also home to a number of annual festivals, such as Moonlight Movies in the Park, at Weston Regional Park. People are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to see films projected on a huge, inflatable screen, outdoors in the park. There is also the Annual Weston Foreign Film Series, the Winter Wine and Food Festival, and the Weston Florida Art Show.

Weston is served by a large number of public schools. Its elementary schools are County Isles Elementary School, Eagle Point Elementary School, Everglades Elementary School, Gator Run Elementary School, Indian Trace Elementary School, and Manatee Bay Elementary School. The middle schools are Falcon Cove Middle School and Tequesta Trace Middle School, and its public high school is Cypress Bay High School. It is also home to a private school, Sagemont School, and a charter school, Imagine Charter School at Weston. Weston is also home to two institutions of higher learning—American InterContinental University South Florida Campus, and an annex of Broward College.

Weston is a city located in Broward County, Florida, USA. As of 2006, the city had a total population of 65,793. Weston is part of the South Florida metropolitan area, which is home to 5,463,857 people. An 800 year old Tequesta Indian burial mound is located in the city.
In 2006, Money Magazine ranked Weston 20th in America in the "Biggest Earners" category. It was also ranked as the city with largest job growth in Florida and 18th largest in the nation. BusinessWeek ranked Weston as one of the "best affordable suburbs" in the United States in November 2006. Due to it being a fully planned community, local realtors often state that "everything is located exactly where it should be."
In 2008, "Money Magazine" ranked Weston as the 73rd best place to live in America, making it the best place to live in the state of Florida.
