NEW KDHamptons Lifestyle Diary: Anne Cappelen & Dylan Eckardt Make Montauk Magic

And if you can’t find Dylan at his Nest Seekers Bridgehampton real estate office you will “defiantly hear him in the water ENFORCING ORDER on his native surf spot in Montauk”.

Dylan Eckardt is a Montaukian, through and through. Born here, raised here, and after traveling the world and spending several years in Malibu, CA, Dylan has settled down to live here. With strong family ties and and an intimate knowledge of the landscape and local population, Dylan, along with life partner and noted interior designer Anna Cappelen, embarks on a career in real estate that is uniquely focused on Long Island’s East End. “I’m not one of these agents who floats in and out of Montauk with the seasons. I live here, full time. To me Montauk isn’t just a Memorial Day to Labor Day escape, it’s a year-round community and I’m dedicated to helping bring Montauk to the best version of itself possible.”

By joining forces with Anna, Eckardt has expanded his scope of real estate offerings to include interior design services through an exclusive partnership with Curious Yellow [Cappelen’s Scandinavian interior design firm] renowned throughout New York and Norway for its sophisticated luxe-meets-rock and roll style. Anna’s work is consistently featured in national and international publications, including: Vogue, UK and Norwegian Elle, Time Out NY and New York Cottages & Gardens.

Dylan shares, “Long Island’s East End — and in particular Montauk — is on the cusp of a new wave of real estate development. We have seen several generations of Hamptons real estate cycles, from home to hardy local fisherman and farmers to playground for the international jet-set. In recent years, all the focus has been on big houses. This sector is more or less satiated, so now we’re focusing on residences and businesses that are more organic to the environment.”

“We have also been very involved in the current transformation of Montauk from sleepy surfer village to a discovery for hoteliers and restaurateurs who have brought a very cool, cutting edge vibe to Montauk. This isn’t just a few ramshackle nightclubs lucky enough to have a liquor license — like the Hamptons clubs have been for the past forty years. This is a sophisticated international scene that is also very true to its Montauk setting. Anna and I are thrilled to be a part of it.”

When Anna isn’t hiding her beauty under a low black mesh trucker hat on the beach at Ditch Plains in Montauk, you can find her designing some on the finest restaurants and homes from Soho to Montauk.
