Welcome back to The Six-Digit Club, in which we take a look at a newish-to-market listing priced under $1 million, because nice things sometimes come in small packages. Send nominations to the tipline.
There aren’t a ton of penthouses that you can buy in Manhattan for less than a million bucks, but with the looser restrictions on what qualifies as a “penthouse” these days, they’re becoming slightly more common. This time, we have a renovated one-bedroom co-op on the top floor of a building along East 24th Street in Kips Bay that’s going for $695,000.
Per the listing description, this penthouse apartment is complete with “designer touches” throughout. The open kitchen is furnished with marble counters, “self-closing” cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and a breakfast bar that divides the kitchen from the open living area.
The bedroom boasts is simple but comes with high ceilings, hardwood floors, a modest-sized closet, and a Juliet balcony. There is an adjacent bathroom that has better-than-basic finishes like a marble floor and a Jacuzzi tub.
Aside from the Juliet balcony located just off the master bedroom, there is also a balcony of similar size (negligible) accessed through the living room. Although they don’t offer much space (at all), the two “balconies” at least serve up more outdoor space than the average Manhattan apartment.
