Los Angeles-based luxury builder Roman James is venturing into the East Coast market, with plans in place to build a one-of-a-kind hillside estate in Water Mill, a hamlet of Southampton, New York.

The yet-to-be-constructed property will hit the market Tuesday with an asking price of $50 million, Mansion Global has learned. Shawn Elliott and JB Andreassi of Nest Seekers are handling the listing.

Dubbed Eagles Point, the property will encompass 7 acres on the highest point in Water Mill. Mr. James assembled the three parcels in the last couple of years after touring more than 25 properties in the Hamptons, he said.

“There are a lot of iconic, historic or great new buildings in the Hamptons, I want to build a ground-breaking house in an area set in its ways that’s not just beautiful, but one of a kind, like a piece of art,” Mr. James said.

His firm, Roman James Design Build, boasts a portfolio that includes a $70 million home in Beverly Hills that was sold to Markus Peerson of “Minecraft” video game fame in 2014 and a $14 million home in the Hollywood Hills sold in 2021.

“It’s a very exciting project for us to showcase a property of this magnitude, this quality, in the East Coast,” Mr. James said. “I’m forecasting it in the $50 million and $80 million price range, and it will be worth every penny of it.”

The rare elevated location will deliver a bird’s eye view of the Hamptons, including unobstructed views of the Polo Fields, the Atlantic Golf Course, Mecox Bay, the Sand Bar and beyond to the Atlantic Ocean, Mr. Elliott said.

The construction is slated to break ground this summer and be completed in two years, according to Mr. Elliott.

Upon completion, the home will feature six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms with high-quality finishes. Planned amenities include a wine cellar, a home theater, a fitness center, a handbag showroom and a car gallery, among others.

There is currently a house on one of the lots that will be torn down to open up the space for the new home, according to Mr. Elliott.
