The apartment is a classic brick building and is defined by nuanced and sophisticated design

Occupying the entire sixth floor of a brick building in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, this amenities-rich residence is a sophisticated blend of classic uptown style with a contemporary downtown edge.

"We built it at a level that will make it stand out against anything else on the market on the luxury end," said listing agent Jessica Campbell of Nest Seekers International, who conceived with the current homeowner the idea to vastly remodel the once multi-unit floor into its current full-floor residence.

Requiring 18 months of construction, Ms. Campbell described the intense attention to detail she, the homeowner and the craftsmen who worked on the project put into it.

"[The homeowner] wanted to build it as if his family could live there," Ms. Campbell said. "And he has very high expectations."

Entering the residence, those expectations are immediately set by a 200-pound door with a striking design featuring brass, iron and rose bronze mirror that Ms. Campbell noted cost approximately $40,000. Once inside, nuanced details define the modern home with further features such as wide-planked, herringbone wood flooring with brass inlays, unique hand-painted wall coverings, and specially designed glass windows with 11 layers that turn the home into a silent enclave in a notoriously noisy city.

"People are shocked by how quiet it is. You literally don’t hear anything," Ms. Campbell said.

The residence’s many windows and its corner terrace ensure both light and a scenic view of the city can be glimpsed on all sides of the residence. From the home’s vantage, Ms. Campbell said, "You [witness] layers of architecture."

Stats

Spanning 5,444 square feet, the residence has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and one powder room.

Amenities

A true "smart" home, the residence is equipped with Savant, a state-of-the-art smart home system that allows homeowners to control the lighting and music for each of the home’s 15 rooms. In fact, Ms. Campbell described the audio system as top-of-the-line and meticulously fine-tuned with an audio technician for three weeks.

A modern kitchen provides state-of-the-art equipment, while the home’s striking bespoke furniture is available for separate negotiation.

Neighborhood Notes

The residence is located on the West Side of downtown Manhattan in the Meatpacking District. Known for its upscale shopping and dining options, the neighborhood is also home to part of the Highline—New York’s picturesque one-and-a-half mile-long park—and the Whitney Museum.
