Mikhail Baryshnikov buys $1.4M Harlem pad with plenty of space for pirouettes

March 24, 2017

Ballet dancer extraordinaire Mikhail Baryshnikov and his wife Lisa Rinehart have just shelled out $1.4 million for an apartment at 1890 Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard in Harlem, per the New York Post.

The apartment was last asking $1.325 million, so it seems there was a bit of a bidding war for it. The 1,340-square-foot condo has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, views of the Mount Neboh Baptist Church and the street below. The building has a landscaped courtyard, a gym and is a five-minute walk from Central Park.

Baryshnikov and Rinehart owned a unit nearby at 245 West 104th Street from 2009 until 2013.

Baryshnikov is often referred to as one of the greatest ballet dancers of all time. He defected from Russia in 1974, and danced with the American Ballet Theater and the New York City Ballet. Before his marriage to Rinehart, he dated actress Jessica Lange, and the two have a daughter together.

He is also known for his work on “Sex and the City,” where he played the love interest of Sarah Jessica Parker.
